Original Art
A selection of original art is now available for sale at this page.

Are you working on adapting the Field Guide to digital form, specifically as an application to Apple’s ITouch system? The Guide could be incorporated with Cornell Bird Songs into ITouch and it would be a fantastic all in one guide about 6 inches by 3 inches by 1/4 inch.
There is such a app for ITouch/Iphone for 20 species of birds in Tasmania.
This is actually in the works, and hopefully will be ready fairly soon. I’ll announce it here whenever I know a date.
I would love to see this on the iPod touch with pictures and vocalizations.
David,
What about a ebook version for the new color Nook e-reader? I understand it is android-based, and might be an easy conversion.
I’ve been seriously considering buying another copy of “Hawks in Flight” and also Pete Dunne’s “Field Guide Companion”, sacrificing them to my Fujitsu ScanSnap, and see how they work on a standard Nook e-reader. What about “Hawks in Flight” in an ebook? Save me buying and dissecting. Phil
Phil, I know there has been some work on an ebook version of the Trees guide, but a book like Hawks in Flight or Pete’s Field Guide Companion would work better since they’re mostly text. We’ve been working on a new edition of Hawks in Flight (hopefully out in 18 months or so) and after that I suspect the publisher will consider an electronic edition.
Excelente página, me ha gustado mucho, ojalá pronto pueda comprar alguno de sus posters y playeras, saludos desde México.
Hi
I am having trouble finding dimensions for the posters. Are they all one size? and can you tell me what their size is.
thanks, Laura
Hi Laura, I just added dimensions to the poster listings, where they should have been all along. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Any plans for an ipod version of the Sibley Guide to Trees? The existing ipod tree guides are terrible! Thanks, Blain
Not in the near future, but thanks for the vote of confidence.
Hi David,
I can’t find a guide for birds of Europe for the iPad/iPhone. Do you have such a guide or it’s only NorthAmerican birds that you have? if you don’t have an i-guide for Europe, can you recommend one? Thanks so much.
juan – northern Spain
Hi Juan, I have not done a guide to European birds (and have no plans to do one) and the Collins Guide is not yet available for iPhone. The only option seems to be the BirdGuides app. I haven’t used it so can’t recommend either way, but at least it is there if you want to try it.
I bought a Nook Color instead of the Kindle in the hopes that some bird field guides would be available. Are there plans to make the Guide of Eastern North American birds available for the Nook Color.
A post on BirdChat indicated that you will be publishing flash cards in February.
Is this true? If so please describe them.
What happens if you have to do a master reset on your droid phone, or upgrade phones. Can you redownload the eguide or how do you recover.
Yes you most definitely can download the app again without having to pay for it, as long as you login to the marketplace with the same Username and Password you used for the initial purchase,
Once logged in browse to “Sibley Birds” and select purchase, the marketplace will then return with a message saying that you already purchased the app and would you like to reinstall, you can then go ahead and reinstall the app.
My daughter and I love the flash card set. Is there any plan to expand the cards? They are a wonderful learning tool.
I read earlier that the “big book” would have a new edition coming out Spring of 2013 is that still the plan?
The revision was originally scheduled for publication this fall, but has been moved back to spring 2014.
There’s no mention of the Windows Phone version of the eGuide, but it’s available. Will there be a Windows 8 version? Soon?
Where can I get the carrying bag for the Sibley Bird Book, that goes on your belt?
Thanks,
van
Hi Van, Some excellent carrying cases (which double as protective covers) are made by Fieldfare and available here: http://www.fieldfare.com/
Best, David
